Blackberry Apps in Enterprise
According to a comScore report, at the end of October 2011 RIM with their BlackBerry ranked third with 17.2 percent share from the 90 million people in the U.S. that own a smartphone.
ProperMobile released a report on smartphone habits. In in the firm writes that 11.3% of all Blackberry owners make over $150,000 a year. Among Google Android based smartphone owners that figure is only 7.2%, and among user of the Apple iPhone the number is 10.9%. Blackberry users are professionals and managers more than people who use handsets powered by Android, or the iPhone.
Evans Data Corp made a research to find out on which platform the developers made the most money, and they discovered something really interesting. 400 commercial developers that took part in the reasearch and the results showed that 13% of BlackBerry developers make over $100,000 from their application, which they say is “considerably more than Android or iOS developers.”
RIM is losing ground on the smartphone market, however BlackBerry is still used by business and corporate customers. RIM prides itself with BBM their proprietary instant messanging app which allows messaging between BlackBerry users. It is said that BBM is still the most reliable messaging service on mobile today.
